Dance with Me

(AGES 18m-2.5)

Dance With Me is a 30-minute class designed for parents and students to enjoy together. Instructors and parents work together to introduce your little one to the fundamentals of dance and creative movement. Sing song dances, costumes, storybooks, props and music will help prepare your dancer to enjoy class independently in our Twirling Tots level.

Pre - Ballet 1

(Pre Kindergarten)

Pre-Ballet I is a 45-minute ballet class that continues to expand understanding of proper ballet technique and terminology. Students develop strength through barre exercises and movements across the floor. Dancers work together in class to create patterns and formations that improve coordination and musicality. This class comes to life through our innovative curriculum. Pre-Ballet I students have the opportunity to perform on the big stage at our end of year recital.

Twirling Tots

(AGES 2.5-3.5)

Twirling Tots is a 45-minute ballet class enjoyed independently without a parent in the classroom. Dancers will be introduced to fundamental ballet technique while improving their listening skills, coordination, spatial awareness and motor skills. Our innovative curriculum involving costumes, props and child friendly music encourages creativity, student imagination and engagement.

Pre - Ballet 2

(Kindergarten)

Pre-Ballet II is a 45-minute ballet class designed specifically for your Kindergartener. Pre-Ballet students continue to improve their technique while understanding muscular control at the barre and in the center. Dancers perfect combinations with more advanced steps and musical patterns while engaging their imagination and creativity. Pre-Ballet is the final level in the Young Children’s Division and students have the opportunity to perform at our end of year recital. Dancers who complete a full year in Pre-Ballet II will move on to Ballet 1 in the Youth Division.

Mini Dancers

(AGES 3-4.5)

Mini Dancers is a 45-minute ballet class designed specifically for your budding dancer. Students are introduced to fundamental ballet technique in a safe and fun environment. Ballet terminology, barre work and steps across the floor come to life with our innovative and creative curriculum. Dancers continue to improve strength, coordination, musicality, listening skills and spatial awareness with a curriculum designed for this age group. Mini Dancers have the opportunity to perform on the big stage at our end of year recital.

Ballet / Tap Combo

(Pre K & Kindergarten)

Ballet/Tap Combo is a 45-minute class introduces ballet and tap technique to your little dancer. Class time is split between two dance genres to allow students the opportunity to experience multiple styles in one class. Dancers are introduced to tap rhythms, musicality, sound recognition as well as barre and center work. Our innovative and creative curriculum brings the class to life and encourages student engagement and imagination. Students begin each class in tap shoes and have the opportunity to perform in our end of year recital. (Ballet and tap shoes are required for this class)

Virginia Dance Conservatory’s Youth Division is designed for dancers ages 6 - 18 years old. Classes offered in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and lyrical for beginner through experienced dancers. Our instructors are skilled dance professionals who pride themselves in providing safe and proper dance training in a nurturing and fun environment. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed and continually refined to reflect the latest in childhood education and development. Students gain confidence, strength, coordination, musicality, flexibility and benefit from the social interactions of dance! Students enrolled in Youth Division dance classes in Arlington, VA, have the opportunity to perform on the stage at the end of year recital.

Jazz, Hip Hop & Lyrical

Jazz, Hip Hop & Lyrical classes designed for all experience levels. Dancers explore rhythm, musicality and movement in the center and across the floor in an upbeat and fun environment.

Ballet

Ballet classes designed for all experience levels. Dancers work at the barre and across the floor while exploring the beauty and grace of classical ballet technique.

Tap

Tap classes designed for all experience levels. Dancers explore musicality, timing, rhythm and coordination by making sounds with their feet! Tap shoes required.

Virginia Dance Conservatory’s Pre-Professional Ballet Division is designed for students ages 7 to 18 interested in studying ballet in a structured year around program. Pre-Professional Division dancers are expected to participate in multiple classes & styles per week and expectations continue to increase as dancers move through the levels. Level placement based on acceptance into the program.
